Sarah Dockter is a Madison-based filmmaker and video editor whose work emphasizes editing, documentary storytelling, and personal cinema. A lifelong creator who began creating a variety of visual art in 2011 at only 10 years old, she earned her BFA in Film, Video, and New Genres from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee in 2023. During her time at UWM, she embraced a wide range of filmmaking styles—from experimental pieces to documentary work—broadening her understanding of how film can connect with audiences.

A musician at heart, Sarah brings her background in bass and French horn to her editing process, ensuring every project has a rhythmic flow. Her passion for detail and organization has led her to work on various productions, including serving as a videographer at Camp Manitou, where she filmed and edited weekly videos to capture the energy of each camp session. She also contributed to the Milwaukee Underground Film Festival by assisting in producing the festival trailer, selecting film submissions, and developing social media content. Additionally, Sarah served as an assistant editor at Discover Mediaworks—a brand-driven, results-based content production company known for producing shows like Discover Wisconsin—honing her skills in post-production and short-form storytelling.

Whether she’s cutting together a festival trailer, crafting a personal short, or documenting real-life stories, Sarah strives to create films that resonate on both a visual and emotional level—always guided by her musical sense of timing and a deep enthusiasm for the craft.
